The safari tour continues…..had it not been for COVID-19 today would have been another fun filled day in the wilderness staying at the classic Seba Camp in the heart of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The Okavango Delta is the largest inland delta in the world listed under the UNESCO World Heritage Site. #CovidHolidayStories
Tomorrow was meant to be our check-out date at Seba Camp to our next destination. We were going to be transferred to Seba Airstrip to board the Wilderness Safaris Botswana light aircraft to Kasane Airport. On arriving at Kasane we were going to be handed over to Wilderness Safaris Zimbabwe for our scheduled road transfer to Toka Leya Camp (operated by Wilderness Safaris) a scenic distance of just over 80km through Zimbabwe into Zambia. The camp is situated in the Mosi-ao-Tunya National Park in Victoria Falls. Named after the Toka Leya people, who inhabited the area around Livingstone centuries before David Livingstone arrived, the lodge is perched on the banks of the Zambezi River upstream from the Victoria Falls (one of the Seven Wonders of the World). Toka Leya overlooks islands in the mighty Zambezi River offering the perfect combination of relaxation and adventure; ideal for the beginning or end of your African safari. Morning explorations of the river, the surrounding Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park or nearby Victoria Falls can be followed by a tranquil afternoon at the spa or practicing inspired yoga on the panoramic deck of our gym.
The camp’s twelve spacious; en-suite safari-style tents (including three family tents) with expansive decks serve up the dramatic views and glimpses of wildlife. Limiting our footprint on this pristine area, wooden walkways snake between the units and the main area where the dining, bar and lounge area are complemented by an infinity pool, a sundeck for sumptuous meals and a convivial fire pit for night-time gatherings.
Stay with us as we take you through our safari tour that was meant to start on the 10th of May until the 3rd of June.
